Frequently Asked Questions

Please use the contact page if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Hypnotherapy is a safe, alternative therapy, that has been used successfully for many years, to treat people with fears, phobias, smoking habits, weight loss and much, much more. Your mind is your very own supercomputer and by being in a semi day dream hypnotic state, we can tap into your own super power via your subconscious mind, where we can change old belief patterns and replace them with positive new suggestions that deliver long lasting results.

Deciding whether or not to pursue hypnosis is a personal choice that depends on your individual needs and goals. However, there are several potential reasons why you might consider hypnosis. Behaviour change: Hypnosis can help with behaviour modification by addressing habits or behaviours you wish to change, such as smoking, overeating, or nail-biting. It can assist in breaking negative patterns and establishing healthier ones.

  • Emotional well-being: Hypnosis can be beneficial for managing and reducing stress, anxiety, and other emotional concerns. It can provide relaxation techniques, emotional regulation skills, and help reframe negative thought patterns.
  • Self-improvement: If you're looking to enhance your self-confidence, motivation, or self-esteem, hypnosis can be a useful tool. It can help you tap into your inner resources, overcome limiting beliefs, and achieve personal growth.
  • Performance enhancement: Hypnosis has been used to improve performance in various areas, such as sports, public speaking, or creative endeavors. It can boost focus, concentration, and confidence, helping you reach your full potential.
  • Health and well-being: Hypnosis has been used to complement medical treatments and manage certain physical conditions, such as chronic pain, insomnia, or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It can aid in relaxation, pain management, and improving overall well-being.
  • Personal exploration and growth: Hypnosis can facilitate self-exploration, helping you gain insights into yourself, your motivations, and your behaviors. It can provide a safe and supportive environment for self-reflection and personal development.
  • Overcoming fears and phobias: Hypnosis is often employed to address specific fears and phobias, such as fear of flying, public speaking, or heights. It can help desensitize and reframe these fears, enabling you to face them with greater ease

During a hypnotherapy session, a trained hypnotherapist guides the individual into a relaxed, safe state of hypnosis. In this state, the individual is in a heightened state of focus and concentration, and their subconscious mind becomes more open to suggestion and exploration. You are in complete control all of the time.. If you are choosing a zoom session, I will email simple instructions and a zoom link prior to the  date of  your session.

The hypnotherapist uses various techniques to help the individual reach their therapeutic goals. This may include positive suggestions, visualization, guided imagery, and cognitive restructuring. The specific techniques used depend on the individual's needs and the goals of the therapy.

Hypnotherapy can be applied to a wide range of issues, including anxiety, phobias, smoking cessation, weight management, stress reduction, performance improvement, and more. It can address underlying emotional and psychological factors contributing to these issues and assist in creating positive changes in behaviour, beliefs, and attitudes.

It's important to note that hypnotherapy is typically conducted by a trained and certified hypnotherapist who has expertise in using hypnosis as a therapeutic tool. It is a collaborative process between the hypnotherapist and the individual, with the individual playing an active role in the therapy and being receptive to the suggestions and guidance provided during the session.

Hypnotherapy has gained recognition as an effective complementary approach to traditional psychotherapy and medical treatments. It can be used as a standalone therapy or in conjunction with other therapeutic modalities, depending on the individual's needs and preferences.

This is something I will discuss with you on the discovery call. I aim to rid you of the fear, phobia, habit etc in the very first session, but for weight loss, smoking or high levels of anxiety, I recommend 4 sessions to maximise results

There are some medical contradictions that I cannot help with, such as if you are pregnant  have psychiatric disorders, epilepsy or have had severe depression, so I do send a detailed consultation form out to you that will assess whether I am able to help in each case

Hypnotherapy can be used for so many different issues so please contact me and I can discuss whether I can be of assistance

You do not need to have a face to face session, as most of my clients prefer to have their sessions via a zoom call, where they can be at home or at their office, or maybe you might be on holiday! Many clients prefer the comfort of their own home where they don't even have to travel to see me, so all sessions can be done via zoom. However, I am based in Surrey in the UK and have regular clinics in Guildford and Godalming.

Remember, hypnosis should always be conducted by a qualified and experienced professional. If you're considering hypnosis, it may be beneficial to consult with a hypnotherapist or mental health professional who can assess your specific needs and guide you through the process safely and effectively.
